The Roman-Jones PB8051-MX/TF core is an 8031 implementation of the popular 8051 microcontroller family. It includes the serial port and two timers found in the 8031. The PB8051 is fully software compatible with the 8031and is able to execute object code generated by 8051 design tools. Program code is executed from an FPGA internal block RAM (ROM) or an external (to FPGA) EPROM. The core is not clock cycle execution compatible with the native microcontroller.
