Superior Design Platform and Smartest Cost Reduction Path

The combination of Virtex® platform FPGAs and EasyPath™ FPGAs delivers high performance system solutions with:

Conversion-Free Cost Reduction Path for Virtex™ FPGAs

EasyPath FPGAs are structurally and architecturally identical to standard FPGAs.

Users can take advantage of the full suite of embedded resources of Virtex Platform FPGAs including PowerPC® hard processors, multi-gigabit serial transceivers, PCI Express® endpoint blocks, Tri-mode Ethernet MACs, DSP48E slices, and much more.

Xilinx offers complete proven soft IP cores with no royalty or conversion requirements for EasyPath FPGAs.

No Engineering Work

Once an FPGA design is ready to ramp to volume production, EasyPath FPGAs free valuable engineering resources to focus on new development rather than on tedious cost reduction activities.

Customers can “value-engineer” FPGA-based systems without the hassle, expense, and risk of conversion and re-qualification.

Outstanding Value

NRE for EasyPath FPGAs is typically $100K or less, with no other up-front costs.

Overall cost of ownership is well below ASIC or structured ASIC. EasyPath FPGAs offer the shortest time to volume production, no re-qualification costs, and zero risk of silicon respin.

Comprehensive Selection of Platforms

EasyPath FPGAs are available for high density devices across three feature-rich, high-end Virtex platform FPGA families.

EasyPath FPGA Flow

Design Migration Not a Conversion

EasyPath migration is simple: design, prototype, test and deploy your system using standard FPGAs. When your design no longer requires programmability, develop and ship high volume EasyPath FPGA production quantities in as little as 12 weeks.

With short migration times, you can ship in production with standard FPGAs and add features to leverage FPGA programmability before moving to EasyPath FPGAs.

Unlike ASICs or structured ASICs, the FPGA and EasyPath package, die size, pin out, power distribution, signal integrity and timing are identical. After simulating and prototyping your design in an FPGA, no additional work is required. Designs are future-proofed: you can quickly replace EasyPath devices with a standard FPGA if an unforeseen design change is required.

Innovative Dual Design Support

EasyPath FPGAs can now be tested for two designs.

This means you can enjoy even greater flexibility, while saving on Bill of Material (BOM) and inventory costs. For example, you can use one design to perform system diagnostics and then load the second design to perform the system's functional requirements.
