Ethernet MAC
Connect to Ethernet with integrated tri-mode Ethernet MAC blocks
Virtex™-5 LXT, SXT, and FXT platform FPGAs include 2-8 embedded tri-mode Ethernet media access controller (MAC) blocks. The integrated functionality reduces total system cost by:
- Reducing design and verification effort
- Freeing approximately 1,800 logic cells per Ethernet MAC in the FPGA fabric
- Reducing component count
- Simplifying system design with pre-verified UNH compliant embedded blocks
