Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations, and Treasury
Matt Poirier joined Xilinx in April 2018, as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Investor Relations. Poirier leads Xilinx’s mergers and acquisitions execution and integration activities. He also oversees communications with Xilinx’s investors and the research analyst community. In addition, Poirier heads the company’s corporate venture arm, Xilinx Technology Ventures, which makes equity investments in innovative technology startups and companies worldwide in support of Xilinx’s strategic objectives.
In October 2019, Poirier was appointed Treasurer and is responsible for driving Xilinx’s capital structure strategy, shareholder capital return programs, cash investments and liquidity management, as well as credit and risk management.
Prior to joining Xilinx, Poirier spent nearly a decade in technology investment banking covering the semiconductor industry. While at Morgan Stanley, he led the semiconductor team in North America, as well as co-led the firm’s automotive technology practice. He also worked as a semiconductor investment banker with BofA Merrill Lynch. Before his career in investment banking, Poirier spent over six years serving as an officer in the United States Navy.
Poirier earned a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles.
